“I want to thank you for your encouragement with Killer Joe…I really appreciate your confidence in me. I also want to thank you for providing an environment that cultivates love for theater. I didn’t grow up in one and besides my own experience acting in a few plays (which I loved thoroughly), I had only seen a few that I enjoyed — outnumbered by some mediocre – to – anger-inducing wastes of time and money. Your class, however, and your dedication to realizing the vision of the writer and encouraging the actors to fully own our role as artists is edifying, enlightening and fun. Scary too, no doubt (good scary, though). It’s so helpful to see the development of the folks in our class and the scenes we’ve chosen. And I’ve seen things in class that have been far more moving and interesting than things I’ve paid to see in a theater. I’m very very grateful to you for this exposure.”
